About Klein’s
Klein’s has been helping organizations create better workplaces across South Dakota since 1964. Founded by Tony Klein, the company originally provided office machines, furniture, and supplies to businesses throughout the region. Just a year later, Klein’s became the original Steelcase Office Furniture dealership in South Dakota, bringing innovative workplace solutions to the state long before modern office design became widely recognized.
One of the company’s earliest major projects was furnishing the new Highway Department Building in 1967 (now known as the Becker Hanson Building). Projects like this helped introduce new ideas about how workplaces could function, including early implementations of the “open office” concept used in the Kneip Building. From the beginning, Klein’s has played a role in shaping how offices work across South Dakota.
Today, workplaces are changing faster than ever. Hybrid work, evolving technology, and new expectations around collaboration and employee experience are transforming how organizations think about their spaces. Klein’s continues to evolve alongside these changes by helping clients design workplaces that are flexible, purposeful, and built for the future of work.
Our team works with businesses, healthcare organizations, government agencies, and institutions to plan and deliver environments that support productivity, collaboration, and well-being. From workplace planning and design to furniture solutions and installation, Klein’s provides a complete approach to creating spaces where people can do their best work.
For over 60 years, our focus has remained the same: helping build workplaces that work better for the people who use them.
